Interior Design

Design and Construction provides interior design services to the University. This includes the selection of furniture for offices, reception areas, conference rooms, and classrooms, floor coverings, walls coverings and paint. Standard and non-standard furniture and other interior design needs are met after a member of the University submits a service request on FAMIS.

Standard Office Furniture

Standard office furniture is purchased by departments with a Service Request on FAMIS.

Non Standard Office Furniture and other Interior Design Needs

For non-standard office furniture submit a Service Request on FAMIS. After the Service Request is received and processed you will be contacted to set up a meeting to discuss your needs. A "ballpark" estimate will be offered in order to verify that the project will have the necessary support. If support is available, then a formal estimate for the cost of the project will be developed. Depending on the funding, staff availability, and appropriate authorization, the project will then move forward. As a project moves forward, construction documents will be developed. The project will then be constructed by an outside contractor or if resources are available, the work may be done by University staff. There will be times when Design and Construction will review a project and determine that it is actually a maintenance item to be turned over to the Operations and Maintenance unit.
